The Business Data Strategist serves as a critical resource in the design, integration, and management of the organization's data assets. By blending data engineering and modeling expertise, this role ensures that data pipelines, architectures, and models align with business objectives. The strategist collaborates closely with the analytics teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to enable robust, reliable, and actionable insights that drive revenue optimization and strategic decision-making.

Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to support analytics and business applications

Develop, implement, and maintain data models that align with business logic and analytics requirements

Drives actionable insights to optimize revenue strategies and financial performance

Create and optimize semantic layers for revenue management tools and analytics platforms

Create and maintain data pipelines and orchestration processes to consolidate data from multiple sources into accessible and usable structures

Develop and enforce data governance practices, including standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Enforce data governance policies to maintain data security, quality, and compliance across systems

Collaborate with data platform architects to ensure seamless integration of new data sources and technologies

Enhance data accuracy and consistency by standardizing and normalizing data assets across systems

Partner with analytics and product teams to understand and translate data requirements into technical designs and work with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with organizational goals, ensuring timely delivery of solutions

Provide technical support and guidance to analytics teams, enabling them to leverage data effectively

Conduct data validation and testing to identify and address issues proactively

Document workflows, processes, and data assets to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity

Manage and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of data assets across systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data assets with organizational objectives and business needs

Monitor and maintain data quality across platforms, resolving discrepancies and ensuring consistency

Acts as a liaison between technical teams and business users, translating technical requirements into actionable business insights. Advocate for customer needs in data-related decisions and ensure alignment with revenue optimization goals

Leverage advanced analytics and tools to identify opportunities for improving data utilization and quality. Support the implementation of adaptive pricing models, forecasting tools, and other revenue management initiatives

Ensure data assets comply with all relevant regulations and internal security protocols. Collaborate with IT and data teams to address vulnerabilities and maintain data integrity

Bridges technical and business perspectives, enabling seamless collaboration

Establishes a scalable and adaptable framework for data asset management to meet future needs

Bachelor's Degree

Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

Required

5+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

Data engineering, data assets, governance frameworks, data modeling, or related roles

Required

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies

Required

Strong knowledge of database architecture, data modeling techniques, and best practices

Required

Expertise in Python, R, or other programming languages commonly used for data manipulation and analytics

Required

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and their integration with data platforms

Required

Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize data workflows and pipelines

Required

Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a detail-oriented mindset

Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Experience with hospitality and revenue management systems (e.g., Opera, LMS, ACRC, Passkey) preferred

Previous experience working in a similar integrated resort setting or data engineering team

Proficiency with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, or similar) and databases (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, or Databricks)

Preferred

Must have extensive experience in product management or product ownership roles, as well as a strong understanding of revenue management tools and pricing strategies. Must also have the ability to translate business objectives into actionable product strategies

Experience/ability to perform processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of imperfect data used for analysis; able to identify various data structures and standardize methods in data transformations

Able to make valid assumptions in working with imperfect data to focus on execution

Credibility in acting as a thought leader and architect in applying appropriate analytical approach to capturing underlying business opportunity.

Must be able to prioritize applied business application of analytics as opposed to theoretical approach

Ability to generate visualizations and translate key insights, implications, and findings to non-technical audiences to drive adoption

Must balance multiple, shifting and sometimes conflicting priorities with proper attitude; and must meet established deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
