The Procurement Analytics Analyst position enables the business to improve category spend by collecting and analyzing spend data and provides visibility into total spend activities across properties, departments, and suppliers. The Analyst identifies and recommends category-specific cost reduction opportunities, leveraging PMO staff and techniques such as total cost of ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, value analysis, supplier rationalization, item rationalization, demand management or make/buy and lease/buy analysis. Informs annual Strategic Sourcing Plan and category decision making by tracking, benchmarking and reporting key performance indicators (e.g., non-compliant spend, category spend drivers, realized savings, etc.).


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

- Collect and analyze company Supply Chain data from various sources, such as company invoices, supplier payments, G/L and inventory systems (spending analytics, cost-benefit analysis and cost-utility analysis, etc.).

- Design, develop and program analytical report using BI reporting tools, such as Power BI.

- Develop processes and tools using database language, such as SQL, VBA, for data collection in support of business analysis requirements.

- Identify data problems and work with colleagues and management to implement remedies as needed.

- Partner with members of Procurement and CoEs to generate financial analyses, provide insights, forecasts and develop business cases for category strategy.

- Report and track Supply Chain metrics and KPIs (scheduled and ad hoc requests).

- Ensure the integrity of all data and analysis to deliver “zero defect” analytics

- Manages the collection and categorization of spend and supplier performance data to deliver consistent and credible analysis to inform category level strategies.

- Basic knowledge of and experience with analytical functionality within Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, nested IF statements, pivot tables, and filters.

- Ability to appropriately manage confidential departmental and corporate information.

- Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment managing multiple projects and personnel simultaneously. Must possess ability to prioritize conflicting duties and maintain timeline integrity for projects and tasks.

- Displays expertise in BI tools and Excel modeling.

- Must have technical functional knowledge on BI strategy and tools and should be a primary property individual to liaise with IM stakeholders.

- Ability to identify and assess patterns, trends, root causes, develop explanations and test solutions.

- Ability to identify and assess problems and solutions, refer to applicable policies, identify options, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
