The primary responsibility of the Convention Services and Catering Coordinator is to provide administrative and clerical support to the department. All duties are performed in accordance with department guest service standards and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Provide excellent service consistent with the property's core service standards and brand

Partner with managers to have a thorough understanding of each program assigned.

Answer and direct all incoming telephone calls with a smile; assist in responding to customer correspondence and requests

Prepare guest reservations and guest amenities

Input program information into Amadeus/Delphi including notes, events, updates, etc.

Maintain files and access to highly sensitive and confidential information

Assist in the handling of clients of the assigned Director and/or Manager as needed in his/her absence

Manage catering inquiries, including phone and email communication with clients

Prepare and distribute the Daily Event Sheet from the BEOs to all departments

Complete and distribute reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

Accurately prepare the BEOs to meet specifications given by clients and/or Managers and process all changes in a timely manner

Perform other duties as requested by assigned Director and/or Manger

KSAs

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms

Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier

Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
