It is the primary responsibility of the Poker Shift Manager to direct and supervise all personnel assigned to the Poker Room on a daily  basis.  The Poker Shift Manager is also responsible to investigate, mediate and resolve guest issues. The Poker Shift manager must  have knowledge and have the ability of the Bravo Poker Watch and coordinate and run Poker Tournaments using Bravo Tournament  Watch.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in managing all day to day operations for the Poker Room department; by operating the department under his/her  control during assigned shift in the most efficient manner possible through effective application and enforcement of  company policies, the use of methods described in standard operating procedures and the use of sound management  principals.

Manage Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include: creating a work environment that  promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training  and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s  status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, and legal requirements.

Oversee assigned shift to ensure operations are meeting Gaming Control Agency and Title 31 standards.

Ensure the execution of games are within compliance of state and property regulations and policies and Inform Surveillance  and Gaming Control Agency agents if tampering or cheating is suspected. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual  events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft

Monitor activity at Poker tables to including seating issues, game decisions, guest disputes, and suspicious activity to  authority and escalate to Poker Manager if necessary.

Operate all aspects of Poker Watch software

Facilitate Poker Cage transactions

Review all Poker Room advertisements for accuracy, and assure they are prepared in a timely fashion.

Protect the confidentiality of all company files and documents under their immediate control

Input player information into Patron Management software

Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous atmosphere that provides guests with an exceptional gaming experience  and ensures efficient operations

Verify guest play time and issue comps

Frontline entry level cage transactions including: cash exchanges, chip redemption/purchase, proper cash/chip handling,  cashier exchange with fill and main banks, window check in/out.

Poker cage transactions including: Cage verification and identification procedures, table variances, miscellaneous  disbursement forms

Must possess the ability to read and evaluate written material, maintain the physical and mental stamina to multi‐task

Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills; demonstrate a proactive style while maintaining professionalism in  dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.

Possess computer proficiency working with software to include Internet, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook

Ability to use office equipment such as copier, fax machine, telephone, and two‐way radio

Excellent customer service skills.

Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
