The Race office Assistant is a key racing position and reports directly to the Director of Racing and Assistant Racing Secretary. 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Clerk of Course 

o Must be licensed by the United States Trotting Association 

o Expert knowledge in the e‐track system 

o Knowledge of the rules of horse ownership and transfers 

o Responsible for the safe keeping, record keeping and accounting of claims and ownership transfers  o Ability to chart call races and post results in the e‐track system and newspapers

Program Director 

o Ability to draw, post and transmit racing programs 

o Candidate must have strong written communication skills including proofreading 

o Strong wagering knowledge

Race Office 

o Ability to set‐up and post condition sheet in e‐track system 

o Ability to determine classification and eligibility of horse entries 

o Responsible for record keeping and accounting of stall and dormitory fees 

o Responsible for record keeping and accounting of stakes and entry fees 

o Assist Race Secretary with management of racing team including labor budget and scheduling. 

o Oversee execution of claims 

o Ability to chart races during live racing

Charter 

o Responsible for properly and accurately completing the official chart of each race.  

o Responsible for the input of race data into computer  

o Responsible for sending complete order of finish and/or charts to local
