This Philanthropy and Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for planning and execution of programs, events and activities that advance the Company's Community Giving initiatives, which are a major aspect of MGM Resorts International's overall Corporate Social Responsibility ("CSR") platform. The primary focus of this position is developing, implementing and supporting operations, programs and events of the MGM Resorts Foundation (the "Foundation"), as a critical anchor of the Company's community support. The position's goals are to formulate and implement employee fundraising and engagement activities that significantly leverage our employee-driven Foundation into a model workplace giving program – thereby deepening the engagement/commitment of our employees as active participants in our communities and contributing to the position of our Company as a major CSR leader. As a Department and Company ambassador to our community, a vital element of this Specialist position is promotion of positive relationships with both internal and external partners who are significant to the Company's Community Giving, with emphasis on elevating the number of employees who invest in our host communities. The position also participates in other department giving activities – including but not limited to support of our Employee Volunteer Program, and other programs as necessary for accomplishment of departmental CSR objectives.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Contribute to formulation of the Department’s annual Community Giving strategic plan for the Board of Directors CSR Committee, quarterly progress reports and annual budgeting process

Administer specified aspects of the Company’s Corporate Giving Program, including research of potential program initiatives; due diligence regarding potential donees; evaluation of donee programs; and assessment of social value and impact of Company contributions

Maintain knowledge and support of all aspects of the Foundation’s operations and special programs, prepare reports (e.g., pledge/giving reports, reconciliations, community grant program, Employee Emergency Relief Fund, etc.); administer the Leadership Checkbook; liaison to Company properties and corporate division to support management of their Foundation activities; troubleshoot and liaison to third parties who support Foundation operations

Attend and represent public presentations on behalf of the Company at, community nonprofit agencies, community programs and events, and other public meetings in furtherance of the Company’s Giving initiatives, as assigned

Develop new programs and measures to attract employee donors to the Foundation; maintain contact with employee Foundation donors to monitor employee concerns, issues and/or suggestions, and participate in development of advertising and other written communications relating to Foundation programs

Maintain relevant Foundation data and statistics; prepare Foundation reports on a regular and as assigned basis

Use appropriate database technology tools to manage the information function of the Foundation pledge/database system

Maintain other documentation, records and files relevant to the Foundation

Benchmark and develop best practices to make the Company’s Foundation a model workplace giving program
