Responsible for administering the absence management processes for an assigned property and/or business unit. Provides support in the implementation of standardized policies and practices that are associated with the absence and leave management and works closely with the property HR team on coordination of claims and communication with employees and management. Supports the department in the administration of other transactional work assigned to HR Shared Services. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of absence/leave management at an assigned property/business unit; ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other state and federal leave laws

Review medical certifications to determine whether the medical condition meets the criteria under the Family and Medical  Leave Act of 1993

Maintain a close professional relationship with the Employee Relations team, managers and employees to expedite the  request for leave, the approvals and on-going administration of all leave requests

Perform other administrative/transactional duties as part of the HR Shared Services team
