The Security Sergeant is responsible for direct supervision of the Peace Officers. They are also responsible for overseeing the video gaming floor and simulcast area, customer and employee security and safety. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring all applicable laws, rules and regulations of the company are firmly and fairly enforced.

Assists with staffing, supervision, training and scheduling of Security Peace Officers.

Responsible for supervising Peace Officers on assigned shift.

Assists the Lieutenants in developing, scheduling and directing the security staff.

Implements systems to ensure compliance with federal, state and company rules and regulations.

Identifies and controls risks and threats to the safety and assets of the company patrons and employees.

Instructs customers and employees regarding the location of emergency and medical equipment.

Notifies lieutenants of any unusual occurrences.

Responsible for the detention of persons for probable cause for the purpose of notifying law enforcement and/or state gaming officials.

Controls and maintains company-wide key controls throughout the property while on duty.

Directs Security personnel to specific assigned duties and/or special assignments as needed.

Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.

Performs other job-related duties as requested

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

One (1) to two (2) years related experience

Prior law enforcement experience

Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

Preferred

Must have excellent PC, planning and organizational, communication and delegation skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must be a team player.

Must be in good physical conditions, capable of assisting in the lifting of a human being based on the circumstances.

Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Must also be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays.

Ability to quickly make independent decisions with the help of a lieutenant.

Ability to formulate and communicate ideas.

Ability to understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements. This includes attendance at  training meetings is scheduled.
