This position will be responsible for evaluating industry trends alongside property specific needs when developing new products and refining existing products. Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Oversees day to day operational aspects of product development projects that vary in scope and complexity, and evaluates technical feasibility and design optimization of products and programs. Manages and coordinates product development projects; manages communication through multiple phases of the product cycle with corporate and property leadership. Maximizes all opportunities to create products that are unique and individualized for properties/segments. All product development projects to consider core, luxury and ultra-luxury properties. | Evaluates industry trends, innovation, customer brand guidelines, regulations, and business objectives to pursue profitable products. Analyzes historic data, trends, product assortment, and competition to make recommendations and develop the product development strategy. Identifies changing market trends and makes recommendations to ensure competitive advantage. | Develops target customer profile for property segments through market data, competitive shopping analysis and business trends. Provides product recommendations based on trend and market data to property leaders, and creates a compelling assortment that will meet financial targets and support property and corporate brand objectives. | Identifies and evaluates vendors based on their alignment with product technical specifications. Negotiates exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, vendor funded markdowns, return-to-vendor agreements, drop-ship programs. Participates in the development of the vendor matrix for multiple categories. | Evaluates current state of business to manage inventory in season; including driving markdowns and exit strategy in collaboration with corporate and property leadership. Analyzes current business to identify business opportunities and in-season risks. | Develops and maintains effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams and influences to achieve results. Leads, mentors and trains junior team members; makes performance recommendations as appropriate. |
