Job Profile Title: | Sr Claims Analyst | Job Code: | 11540 | Profile Title: | 11540 Sr Claims Analyst | Grade / Band: | IC3 | FLSA Status: | Exempt | The primary responsibility of the Senior Claims Representative is to handle the investigation and analysis of third-party property and casualty complex claims received in Risk Management. The Sr. Claims Representative will determine the extent of MGM Resorts International's liability, if any, and assess alleged damages by applying technical knowledge, independent judgment, deductive/inductive reasoning, critical thinking, diplomacy and excellent guest service skills to effect fair and prompt resolution of claims. Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Lead the investigation of complex third-party claims resulting in bodily injury, property damage and litigation to include reviewing written and visual documentation (surveillance footage, incident reports, medical records, etc.), conducting witness interviews and facilitating onsite inspections for litigated and non‐litigated claims. | Provide support of assigned litigated claims to include communicating with outside counsel, aid in discovery requests, assist in the preparation of pre‐trial motions, monitor litigation deadlines and outside counsel's compliance, participate in the development of trial strategy, and attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials. | Maintain the financial aspects of each claim to include ensuring sufficient reserves based on the exposure and budget provided by outside counsel, post accurate and timely claim payments within the claim databased system and review all invoices from outside counsel to verify accuracy of entries. | Investigate and present claim evaluation, participate in roundtables, and claim reviews with Senior Management, in order to review status of open/active claims and assist in the strategy for progression of claims, litigation, and resolution. | Negotiate and resolve claims in a fair and equitable manner, within designated authority level, in compliance with the Company's settlement practices, policies, and procedures. Confer with management for any recommended settlement outside of designated authority level. | Review all claims to identify potential for risk transfer following the review and evaluation of applicable contracts. Prepare proper and timely communication to obtain acceptance of tender and indemnification. | Manage administrative functions of each claim to include maintaining organized claim files, providing up‐to‐date claim notes, and deadlines within the claims management system. Prepare and complete varied required claim forms and reports within scheduled deadlines. |
