Job Profile Title: | Assoc Legal Counsel | Job Code: | 11911 | Profile Title: | 11911 Assoc Legal Counsel | Grade / Band: | L3 | FLSA Status: | Exempt | It is the primary responsibility of the Associate Counsel to perform, at the direction of designated Legal Counsel and other senior department attorneys (as applicable), professional legal work related to assigned matters for MGM Resorts International and subsidiary organizations. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Represents the Company in state and federal court litigation, administrative hearings, or transactional negotiations within assigned practice areas. | Performs legal research, drafts and files pleadings, contracts, or regulatory filings, and handles all aspects of case management, discovery, and motion practice as required. | Exercises discretion and independent judgment commensurate with specialized legal skills and experience to resolve complex legal issues. | Provides sound, well-reasoned legal advice and strategic counsel to the Company’s various business units regarding operational, transactional, or compliance matters. | Develops and maintains strong business relationships among the various internal business groups requiring legal support to ensure seamless collaboration. | Demonstrates leadership and teamwork skills in support of a collaborative, high-performance legal department. | Supervises paralegals and administrative staff on work assignments. | Performs other job-related duties as assigned by designating Legal Counsel or department leadership. |
