As a Commis, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Assist Sous Chef in product consistency and make necessary modifications according to business needs

Monitor waste and over production, as well as utilize leftovers, and ensure proper rotation and quality control

Assist Sous Chef in monitoring and training of new employees to help them achieve higher status as well as monitor and enforce Company and departmental safety policies, and Health Department Standards

Assist Sous Chef in monitoring food cost for their outlet and order of all food products

Assist Sous Chef in maintaining the overall cleanliness and equipment maintenance of their areas

Assist Sous Chef in preparation of menu, take inventory, and coordinate with the Sous chef on order and preparation of food items

Assist Sous Chef in production of menu

Assist Sous Chef with the breakdown and transfer of banquet function food items

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

KSAs

General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, money handling

Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, and coolers, slicers, beverage machines, and have knife skills

Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine

Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail

Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
