The Irrigation Gardener position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day landscape irrigation operations to ensure that all horticulture areas are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Responsible for always maintaining the MGMRI standards of service to guests and coworkers.

Regularly inspect and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution and prevent water wastage; determine adequate watering schedules and set controllers while troubleshooting irrigation systems as needed.

Inspect and repair valves, pipes, heads, drip lines, emitters, bubblers, micro-sprinklers, pressure regulators, filters, wiring, connections, and similar irrigation components; stay current on irrigation trends within the industry; follow safety guidelines and regulations; exercise proper horticultural practices and industry standards.

Install irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants, drainage, and soil composition; advise proactively on future irrigation repairs.

Clean and maintain outdoor spaces to include rock application, raking, blowing, washing, and similar activities.

Properly use a variety of manual hand tools such as rakes, hand saws, pruning shears, shovels, hoes, fertilizer spreaders, pesticide sprayers, sod knives, and hedge shears.

Operate specialized power and motorized equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers, light tractors, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and rototillers.

Drive and operate company vehicles, trailers, and/or specialized carts to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment.

Clean and maintain gardening tools, equipment, and supply areas to ensure good working conditions.

Follow MGMRI policies and procedures for mobile devices to include work order creation, response, and completion.

Inspect the work area to identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor or management.

Two (2) years of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems

Working knowledge of basic hydraulics and electrical related to an irrigation system

Ability to understand irrigation maps

Knowledge of exterior plant materials and irrigation practices Experience in the use of hand tools such as shovels, spades, rakes, loppers, saws, or similar tools

Knowledge of irrigation techniques using sprinkler, hoses and flooding methods
