ASOs act as a visual deterrent and through early detection disrupt criminal conduct or other undesirable activity. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures. This position requires some specialized training and physical conditioning. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Monitor the controlled access points to the casino floor of the property to authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against contraband and maintain security of premises. | Monitor security safety systems and perform security checks. Warn violators of rule infractions, such as improper identification or carrying forbidden items. | Respond to or assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss of damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures. | Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and following established protocol for reporting injuries. | Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, guest or employee accidents, or unusual occurrences. | Provides excellent service to guests and employees; resolves complaints and issues involving both guests and employees. |

Additional Requirements | Details | Required/ Preferred | Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays. | Required | Must be able to obtain a valid armed security guard license or certificate upon hire. | Required | Must pass New Security Officer Training (NSOT) academy, Special Police Officer (SPO) training academy, and a firearms qualification and training certification. | Required | Required to successfully attend and pass all recurring mandatory training, such as defensive tactics, first aid, CPR/AED certification, and firearms qualification, as a condition of employment. | Required | Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned equipment, including firearms. | Required | Experience working in a similar security setting. | Preferred | | | |
