It is the primary function of the Director of Marketing of the MassMutual Center to develop, implement, and monitor the MassMutual Center's marketing, advertising, and public relations plans and budgets, as well as design and implement creative collateral to promote the Convention Center, Arena, Suites, and Sponsorship opportunities. A crucial function will be to partner with our MassMutual Center Convention Sales team and the Greater Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau to assist in the marketing, branding, and sales efforts in making the MassMutual Center a destination facility for event bookings. The Director of Marketing of the MassMutual Center will supervise the Marketing Manager and will oversee the daily management of all marketing and public relations initiatives related to the MassMutual Center.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Develop the strategy and vision of the annual advertising, sponsorship sales, and public relations plan and manage all the activities of the Marketing Department to reach budget goals and generate revenue for the facility, including Sponsorship & Group Sales initiatives.

Execute marketing plans including media buying, advertising material development, and promotions within specific budgetary constraints as laid out in contracts.

Manage brand presentation in all communication channels to maintain accurate information and presentation of the MassMutual Center and the events taking place within the building.

Manage all MassMutual Center social & digital media channels, SEM, SEO, website, and email database platforms and maintain all content on owned assets including the website, social media, marquee, and on-property digital screens.

Manage the overall sponsorship program which includes but is not limited to writing contracts, ensuring agreement details are upheld, creating brand-specific proposals for new opportunities, maintaining relationships with current sponsors, and developing new and strategic partnerships to increase revenue.

Responsible for public relations, promotions, and publicity for the venue and the events: concerts, sporting events, conventions and shows within the facility, while developing creative marketing campaigns that promote public/community awareness.

Develop collateral, including fliers, newsletters, posters, postcards, email blasts, group sales brochures, pocket schedules, sales video, television, print and radio advertisements, marketing kits, billboards, building information guides, etc. using publishing and graphic design software.

Prepare requests for proposals and letter of agreements for media partners, develop tactical/relationship marketing plans and strategies for events, and execute the marketing portion of the settlement reconciliation for each event.
