Historically, Enterprise Architecture emphasized evaluating and integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications into the enterprise landscape, reducing duplication, and enforcing governance and security standards. Today, the role has shifted. Agile delivery, cloud-native services, API-driven integration, and the rise of Artificial Intelligence have redefined how architecture is delivered. The Distinguished Enterprise Architect, will set the strategic direction for MGM's enterprise architecture, ensuring all components, applications, infrastructure, data, and security, work cohesively. The candidate will collaborate with executives and stakeholders to design innovative, scalable, and AI-enabled solutions that meet evolving business needs while fostering a modern, Agile-aligned architecture practice. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Define and champion the enterprise architecture vision and framework across all TDD domains, aligning with strategic business objectives and technology evolution. | Develop and govern the enterprise architecture roadmap, driving modernization through cloud-native, API-first, event-driven, and AI-enabled designs. Be able to demonstrate with live coding examples. | Strong understanding of Data Frameworks , Data Lakes, Data Ingestion and Date Pipelines. | Lead enterprise-wide reviews to ensure proposed solutions adhere to architectural principles, industry best practices, and enterprise standards. | Recommend and evaluate emerging technologies across infrastructure, applications, data, and security, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability. | Collaborate with executives, product leaders, and technology teams to translate business priorities into future-proof architectural strategies. | Guide the adoption of Agile and just-in-time architecture practices, enabling rapid delivery without sacrificing governance or security. | Mentor Principal and Senior Architects, advancing the shift from legacy COTS-focused approaches to modern, development-minded architecture. | Drive the creation of comprehensive enterprise-level models and blueprints, ensuring alignment across distributed, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. | Promote architecture practices that embed AI, automation, and cloud-native patterns into solution delivery. | Represent MGM Resorts in key technology forums and external partnerships, ensuring enterprise architecture reflects leading practices and innovation. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | KSAs | Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native platforms, Infrastructure as Code, distributed systems, loosely coupled systems, API frameworks, and automation tools. | Demonstrated ability to architect with AI/ML and automation as core enablers of enterprise solutions. (be able to show real world examples). | Familiarity with compliance and governance frameworks (e.g., PCI, NIST, GDPR) and their integration into enterprise designs and GRC. | Strong leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence strategy at the C-suite level. | Industry-recognized certifications (TOGAF, Zachman, SAFe, Cloud Pro/Specialty) nice to have. | Proven experience with multiple development languages, database design, and data architectures. |
