This role combines technical design skills with precise estimation to ensure that creative visions are achievable within budget and timeline constraints. The candidate will create a library as designs are made and then cataloged for future use, reference, or reimagination. The Technical Designer will offer creative solutions to achieve overall intended aesthetic. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Develop detailed technical drawings, floor plans, and 3D models for event setups, staging, lighting, and decor. Introduce opportunities for flexible design that will serve multiple locations, theming and clients. | Collaborate closely with designers to create a fluid process. | Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that technical elements align with the overall event vision. Introduce new materials and opportunities that support event industry trends | Use CAD or similar software to produce accurate renderings and visualizations for client and team presentations. | Develop an understanding of all properties and outlying restrictions that may or may not support the design. | Coordinate with the fabrication and graphic design team to ensure technical designs meet all structural and operational safety standards. | Communicate directly with vendors to confirm the technical requirements and specifications of materials and equipment. Visit vendors as need throughout builds to ensure accuracy of build and finishing details. | Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and innovations in staging, lighting, AV, and décor. Advise on the latest materials and technical options to enhance event aesthetics while optimizing costs. | This position is an active MREP Ambassador for the company within the events and entertainment industry. | Responsible for training, safety and SOP's that contribute to overall success of the department and MGM company. |
