It is the primary responsibility of the Poker Operations Manager to work in partnership with the Director of Poker Operations to oversee the efficient and compliant operation of the Poker Department, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams and adherence to State Regulations. This role involves strategic collaboration, staff management, and operational oversight to drive departmental success, including, but not limited to, executing departmental initiatives, and addressing operational needs. This role promotes employee engagement, fosters inclusivity, provides coaching, and contributes to a guest-focused and performance-driven culture in alignment with MGM Resorts International's service standards.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures, in strict compliance with State Regulations.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Poker Operations to develop and update poker promotions, tournaments, internal controls, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), enhancing player experience and operational efficiency. Ensure consistent policies across operations and identify opportunities for improvement.

Provide strategic support by maintaining and analyzing operational data to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. Set daily and weekly goals for support staff to ensure timely execution of poker events, staffing, and compliance tasks.

Support Workforce Management in the creation of schedules that align with business volumes, ensuring fairness and policy compliance, in planning and administering vacation bids, shift bids, and approved personal leaves of absence.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of poker staffing, onboarding, and compliance tracking.

Partner with Talent Acquisitions to support recruitment by facilitating interviews and auditions for Poker Dealers and Tournament Dealers. Monitor turnover rates and optimize staffing to minimize overtime while meeting demand.

Lead training and development initiatives including onboarding, performance reviews, and career development programs. Facilitate ongoing training plans and communicate policy and procedural updates to ensure compliance with State Gaming Regulations.

Coordinate with HR Partners to track and facilitate Accommodations and Leave of Absence in accordance with company and department policy and escalate issues as needed to ensure compliance and resolution.

Manage variables in the Poker Operating systems, facilitate system access requests and maintain compliance records for all staff levels.
