This position plays a critical role in the development of Data Products within MGM's modernized, cloud data platform by thoroughly understanding business requirements, analyzing data, and turning requirements into an extensible data model. The Data Modeler will be responsible for leveraging best practices in designing the Gold layer and ensuring that all assets are designed/optimized for business execution. The candidate will collaborate with and provide clear guidance to product managers, analysts, engineers, BI developers, and business users. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Lead cross-domain semantic design initiatives, aligning data models across all lines of business to enable interoperable analytics and shared business definitions | Partner with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable data models | Partner with the Data Insights team to ensure that naming standards, metadata, reference data, conformed dimensions, and quality rules align to established standards | Ideate and leverage AI technologies to reduce manual tasks | Ensure data models are optimized for analytics, AI/ML, and operational consumption, supporting use cases such as personalization, experimentation, forecasting, fraud detection, and real-time decisioning | Own and evolve enterprise-level semantic layers and curated datasets, balancing flexibility for advanced analytics with guardrails that protect metric integrity | Champion adoption of trusted, decision-ready metrics across domains, partnering with Analytics, Data Science, and Business teams to reduce metric fragmentation and improve confidence in insights | Provide thought leadership on all aspects of the Data Platform to improve data trust and adoption by the business |
