The Sr. Manager, Risk and Insurance, is dedicated to protecting the enterprise by mitigating liability, optimizing insurance coverage, and enforcing SOPs aimed at claim prevention, loss control, and early resolution. Through strategic planning, hands-on event support, and robust collaboration with internal and external partners, this role ensures the continued success and resilience of our operations. This position will also be responsible for procuring insurance for the Arenas and other lines of business and will manage the company's loss control efforts in collaboration with internal stakeholders, our Brokers, and insurance carriers. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Strategic Risk & Event Management - Lead on-site risk management for Arena operations during activation periods, enforcing established SOPs to ensure early resolution, claims mitigation, and triage of all liability incidents. Develop and execute comprehensive risk assessment plans for all large-scale events within the arena and convention center, requiring on-site presence to provide immediate claims resolution and operational support | Claims and Litigation Oversight - Support the lifecycle of all claims and litigated matters by collaborating with internal Claims and Workers' Compensation teams, insurance carriers, and outside counsel. Act as the key property liaison for all claim-related activities, including investigations, evidence retention, discovery, and serving as a company witness, while ensuring property executives are advised of all financial implications | Insurance & Stakeholder Relations - Manage the insurance procurement process for assigned properties and business lines, leading renewal presentations and negotiating optimal terms with brokers and carriers to ensure comprehensive risk protection. Cultivate strategic relationships with leaders across all functions, participating in departmental meetings to embed risk management best practices and ensure proper insurance and indemnification for new venues, special events, and retail operations | Risk Management Support - Build relationships across all functions with leaders and key stakeholders and participate in these department meetings in order to remain aware of ongoing property activities and new activities such as special events and new retail and restaurant establishments to ensure proper contract language around insurance and indemnification is in place and collect and maintain insurance certificates | Loss Control & Prevention - Champion the company’s loss control program in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., Safety, Facilities) and external partners (e.g., brokers, carriers) to enhance building resiliency and long-term risk reduction. Serve as the primary liaison for our property insurers' risk engineering teams, coordinating site inspections and driving the implementation of all engineering recommendations. Conduct daily reviews of security and incident reports to proactively identify and investigate potential claims, leading on-site tactics to secure information and facilitate swift, effective resolutions. | Participate and support other Properties as needed.
