The Director of Slot Strategy will work at the direction of the Chief Gaming Officer of MGM Osaka in support of the planning for and operations of MGM Osaka. The role will participate in the planning for and implementation of processes to optimize slot profitability, machine mix, and floor layout in the pre-opening and throughout the ongoing operations of MGM Osaka. The role will support the leadership of MGM Osaka ("The Project") and collaborate with stakeholders at MGM Resorts International in slot operations and casino marketing. This role is the key point of contact between the leadership of MGM Osaka, the Slot teams at MGM Resorts International, and the MGM Japan Design & Construction team to identify opportunities, resolve issues and address concerns. The role is responsible for ensuring that all slot processes are effective, efficient, and continuously optimized during pre-opening and ongoing operations. All duties are performed in accordance to company policies and procedures.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Support the Chief Gaming Officer in identifying, developing, socializing and implementing regionally localized and industry-leading pricing, machine mix and floor layout best practices for MGM Osaka

Coordinate processes and projects between the Chief Gaming Officer, the Project Management Office (“PMO”) and Project leadership to ensure MGM Osaka’s successful opening and competitive market advantage

Collaborate with other pre-opening and operational teams, MGM Osaka leadership, and the PMO to build and implement pre-opening and operational strategies in slot portfolio/manufacturer mix, slot pricing strategies, owned vs. leased mix, house edge strategies, operational policies and procedures, etc

Ensure effective strategic planning, communication, and execution of effective strategies; provide support to MGM Japan D&C, MGM Osaka leadership and MGM Resorts casino gaming leadership and appropriate property personnel

Build and maintain relationships with slot technology vendors and suppliers, collaborate with vendors on market localization modifications, provide support for vendor regulatory licensing, liaise with vendors to successfully deliver and install slot machines and associated gaming equipment

Participate in developing the design and layout of the MGM Osaka casino floor and provide support to MGM Japan D&C and other associated stakeholders in the procurement, installment and inspection of slot machines and other related gaming equipment

Collaborate with the Chief Gaming Officer, Project leadership and the PMO to manage project financials, including pre-opening spending, gaming revenue estimates, the divisional hiring compendium, gaming equipment procurement budgets, and impacts of strategic and operational planning

Advise Workforce Development on talent development pipelines and training needs for the Slot operations team at MGM Osaka, including the creation and execution of in-house and third-party training programs.  Achieve and uphold all government commitments and regulatory compliance requirements, as defined in the RFP, ADP, IR Act, JCRC rules, etc., required for opening and compliant ongoing operations

Direct and execute comprehensive market and customer research within Japan and the regional market delivering actionable recommendations for gaming product offerings, casino marketing strategies, and loyalty program development
