Under the supervision of the Head and Assistant Head of Lighting, the Lead Lighting Technician will lead a team of Lighting  Technicians while collaborating with other theatrical departments during performances, rehearsals, and/or maintenance work with  the goal of presenting an entertainment experience beyond our guest's expectations.

 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Inspect and maintain lighting equipment and systems; update maintenance and inspection records as directed; work with  the Head of Lighting to develop maintenance systems and procedures

Develop a thorough knowledge of all lighting department equipment specific to production in order to operate equipment  safely

Maintain a safe working environment at all times by adhering to all established safety policies and procedures; participate  in all required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training

Preserve the on-going; long-term “opening night” quality, the lighting designer's vision, and the artistic integrity of the  production according to the needs of artistic, technical and company management

With the Head of Lighting coordinate special projects including the research, purchase and installation of specialty lighting related items both for show applications and for electrical needs of the showroom and other stage departments

Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the on-going needs of the production

Under the direction of the Head of Lighting and technical management ensure lighting department documentation is  current and formally recorded to preserve the original intention of the designers, and utilize TMA and other provided  software tools to track all preventative and reactive maintenance routines, as well as any other information pertinent to  the security of the show's run

Observe safe wiring practices and maintain equipment in accordance with industry standards for safe operations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

KSAs

Knowledgeable of the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of Automated Lighting Fixtures, Projection Systems  (Projectors, LED and Media Servers), Industrial Power Distribution, Dimming Systems, Ethernet based lighting and  projection control distribution systems, Special Effects Equipment

Knowledgeable with preventive maintenance programs for stage and facilities

Knowledgeable of digital test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs

Comprehension of basic principles of AC/DC electricity, basic electronics, and computer operations as it pertains to lighting systems

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms

Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment,  i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts

Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
