Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Maintain knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available | Assist guest with food and beverage selection by presenting menu, offer cocktails and aperitifs, suggest courses, explain Chef's specialties, identify appropriate wine and answer food preparation questions | Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests | Ring sales, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork | Keep work area clean and stocked; prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils | Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies | Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs | Perform other job-related duties as requested |
