It is the primary responsibility of the Strategic Sourcing Specialist to prepare, maintain and report purchasing-related data that  ensures supplier compliance as defined and required by corporate reporting guidelines, local and state government and Gaming  Commissions in regional geographies of MGM Resorts. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting operations of the program  through effective communication, training and executing the Company's diversity strategies and goals to achieve success.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for data integrity of new items, supplier registration, and related tables and content in the company’s core  purchasing and inventory system

Responsible for the maintenance and set-up of new items in the company’s core purchasing and inventory system (MMSS  or equivalent), including, but not limited to, identification of substitute or alternative items

Audit supplier bids, BPO’s and applicable documentation for compliance and quality of data

Responsible for monitoring and managing updates/changes to approval tables and user set-ups in the purchasing and  inventory

Is the department’s user expert and core resource for maintenance, use, and development of the purchasing and inventory  system; acts as key interface with the suppliers/providers of the technologies to support the purchasing and  warehouse/receiving needs of the company, and acts as primary liaison between the company and the provider (supplier)  of the purchasing and inventory system

Research, analyze, and resolve system use and errors that occur at the property level. Communicate and coordinate with  user departments in order to understand needs and anticipate and resolve issues, ensure customer satisfaction and provide  procurement services to meet property needs

Provide training and support to all users of the purchasing, inventory, and related technologies to support the department

Must consistently demonstrate a problem solving approach, initiative, independent, drive follow-up and follow-through in  the performance of all tasks, projects and communications

KSAs

Must be familiar with data structures, systems tables, error messages, and have experience in system problem resolution

Able to travel occasionally

Working knowledge in MMS, and Stratton Warren are required, Visio helpful

Ability to communicate effectively, concisely and logically in a timely manner and at an appropriate level, while maintaining  confidentiality

Ability to to make sound decisions immediately without supervision

Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e.  telephone, copier, fax machine

Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular  attention to detail

Effective listening abilities with strong judgment and collaboration skills

Ability to type 45 words per minute

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
