It is the primary responsibility of the Race and Sports Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the Race and Sports book during their shift and/or in the absence of the Race and Sports Book Shift Manager. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Assist, train and lead Race and Sports Mutuel Clerks

Approve complimentary items for guests and over-the-limit wagers for the property

Close out writers at the end of the shift and ensure money has been transferred to the main cage

Move and monitor betting lines

Explain betting lines and odds to customers

Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department

Issue disciplinary action when requested by Sports Book Manager/Director

KSAs

Working knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance with Title 31, Regulation 22, and IRS Forms

Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms

Able to lead and mentor a team

Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
