Job Profile Title: | Chief Pilot | Job Code: | 19086 | Profile Title: | 19086 Chief Pilot | Grade / Band: | L3 | FLSA Status: | Exempt | The primary responsibility of the Chief Pilot is to implement and develop standards, training programs, as well as evaluate operations and training to ensure the safe operation of company aircraft. In addition, Chief Pilot must mentor the Assistant Chief Pilots and their team of pilots assigned in order to achieve the companies' goals and objectives for employee engagement. The Chief Pilot must develop and maintain company, FAA and OEM manuals to ensure legality and compliance in order to operate worldwide. Must develop and evaluate international procedures and operations. Will lead flight operations safety initiatives, and work with and Mentor the Assistant Chief Pilots to ensure the highest levels of safety are maintained. Must maintain currency on all company aircraft types and be a subject matter expert on the successful operation of the fleet. Develops standards and evaluates the team to ensure pilots are operating in accordance with department, OEM, as well as company best standards and practices. The Chief Pilot screen and hire pilots, approve crewmember pairings and receives feedback from the Assistant Chief Pilots and advises the Vice President of Aviation to ensure the overall safety and execution of the operation. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Promotes the MGM Resorts Aviation safety culture in all aspects of aviation operations | Assumes flight duties regularly and acts at Pilot-in-Command ensuring safe and efficient service to customers while monitoring the standardization and procedures of flight crews | Provides a key leadership role within the department and must develop and implement safe and efficient operating procedures, oversees and supervises the activities of flight personnel during day-to-day operations | Directs the Assistant Chief Pilots to initiate actions that include performance evaluations, commendations, coaching, counseling and remedial training for all pilots/crewmembers. | Develops schedules based on property and executive demand against fleet availability | Remains informed and ensured compliance with the latest developments within the business aviation community, including Federal, State, local and foreign regulations affecting operations | Develops, implements and trains pilots to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and technical requirements | Ensures appropriate pilots tiffing levels per aircraft type based upon marketing demands. | Maintains and oversees all areas of the Aviation Operation for which he is assigned by the Vice president of Aviation. These areas include but are not limited to: Training, Standards, Standardization, Quality, Reporting, Documentation, Publications, Regulations, Oversight, Regulatory Interface, and International Operations. | Works with the Vice president of Aviation and the Director of Safety to maintain, review, and recommend required updates to department SOP’s |
