This role is accountable for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all gaming-related financial statements, regulatory filings, and audit responses, while building a scalable shared services model that supports growth, consistency, and strong regulatory relationships. This leader serves as the company's primary authority on gaming audit, accounting, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to all applicable gaming regulations, MICS/internal control standards, GAAP, and state and federal statutes. The role partners closely with Finance leadership, property executives, regulators, internal and external auditors to protect the company's licenses, reputation, and financial integrity. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Balance strategic leadership with hands‑on engagement in complex issues, high‑risk audits, and regulator interactions. Serve as a trusted adviser and thought leader to Finance and operational leadership on gaming audit, accounting, and regulatory matters. | Drive alignment between property‑level operations and enterprise standards. | Provide strategic direction and oversight for all gaming audit and accounting activities across multiple jurisdictions and properties. Adapt quickly to regulatory changes, business growth, and evolving audit expectations across jurisdictions. | Own the end‑to‑end relationship with gaming regulators, internal audit, external auditors, and government agencies; lead and coordinate all regulatory, financial, and compliance audits. | Ensure the design, execution, and ongoing effectiveness of gaming internal controls, audit programs, and accounting policies aligned with jurisdiction‑specific regulatory requirements. | Champion process improvement, automation, and technology enablement to improve accuracy, speed, and scalability. Proactively identify regulatory, financial, and operational risks; develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues appropriately to senior leadership. | Provide executive‑level analysis of financial results, trends, and variances, translating data into actionable insights for leadership Oversee complex accounting matters impacting gaming operations, including revenue recognition, cage and count processes, promotional allowances, jackpot liabilities, and multi‑state reporting requirements. | Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of gaming financial statements, reconciliations, journal activity, and regulatory reports. Lead all internal, external, and regulatory audits, ensuring consistent, high‑quality responses and timely resolution of findings. | Ensure audit readiness at all times through disciplined governance, testing, and continuous monitoring. Establish audit standards, documentation protocols, and issue‑tracking processes that withstand regulatory scrutiny. | Standardize processes, controls, and reporting across jurisdictions while respecting local regulatory nuances. Build and evolve a best‑in‑class shared services model for gaming audit and accounting that delivers consistency, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. | Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of audit and accounting professionals across multiple locations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and regulatory excellence. | Establish a strong talent pipeline through thoughtful hiring, training, succession planning, and performance management. |
