Oversees all aspects of the buying process for a medium/high volume product category in support of the Retail and property strategic plans. |
Responsible for buying specialty categories including but not limited to kids, gift, licensed, and entertainment. |
Creates a compelling assortment that will meet financial targets and support core property brand objectives. |
Analyzes historic data, trends, product assortment, and competition to develop the strategy. |
Analyzes current practices to identify business opportunities and in-season risks. |
Participates in the merchandising budgetary process for properties which includes inventory, sales, receipts, markdowns, turn, gross margin percent and weeks of supply. |
Evaluates current state of business to manage inventory in season, including driving markdowns and exit strategy in collaboration with corporate and property retail leadership. |
Negotiates exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, vendor funded markdowns, return-to-vendor agreements, and drop-ship programs. |
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams and is able to influence them to achieve results. |
Maintains knowledge base of potential new vendors and product concepts. |
