This role is responsible for leading the operations team in achieving the property's stated operational and financial goals, including managing labor and overall financial performance, while maintaining an engaging employee experience. Owns the execution of the functional strategy and operational direction of the pool team, including pool operations and food & beverage. Ensures high guest satisfaction and an exceptional guest experience, in accordance with MGM Resorts service standards. Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Works closely with the VP of Food and Beverage and senior leadership to implement strategic initiatives provided by property leadership and the CoE. | Leads the implementation of policies, operating procedures, training programs, manuals, directives, work schedules, rules and regulations for pool operations. | Responsible for employee engagement of the pool operations team, utilizing the tools provided through training, coaching, rewards, and development. | Drives revenue for the area by ensuring cabana/rental rates effectively yield in accordance with strategy. Recognizes areas of opportunity for cost containment to surpass budgeted objectives and maximize EBITDA. | Provides leadership and direction to maintain and improve the guest experience within the pool area, consistent with brand attributes and company service standards. Collaborates with other departments to ensure the delivery of exemplary guest service. | Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, counsels, and coaches the pool team for the efficient operation of the pool department. | Ensures the pool area operates in accordance with local health and safety guidelines, and that all lifeguards receive the necessary training. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | KSAs | Knowledge of general health and sanitation codes. | Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel. | Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms. | Knowledge of pool safety programs, training, and documentation to ensure the safety of guests | Ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders. | Proficient understanding of F&B division, budgeting, profit and loss statement, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operational expenses. | Technical knowledge and experience with hotel management systems (ex: Opera) | Technical knowledge and experience with service optimization (ex: HotSOS) | Previous experience in a similar resort setting | Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement | Ability to establish credibility and rapport with operating leaders. | Ability to establish guidelines for proper staffing to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs. | Ability to utilize guest service satisfaction performance metrics from Guest View, TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc, to generate action plans to address service opportunities Ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches related to operations. | Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, employees, and other outside contacts. | Excellent customer service skills. | Able to lead and mentor a team. | Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail. | Effective listening abilities and be able to make sound judgment calls |
