It is the primary responsibility of the Manager Linen and Supplies to assist with daily hotel supply operations needed to ensure that the campus Housekeeping and Environmental Services departments have all necessary supplies and equipment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.

 


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Optimizes par levels based on usage to ensure sufficient supplies while minimizing costs; assists with maintaining Warehouse Par Levels (e.g. inventories, MMS updates, supply requisitions) and ensuring that daily supply requirements are being met

Ensures that operating supplies are properly secured and that access is limited to designated personnel. All supplies stored inside or removed from the Housekeeping and Environmental Services warehouse must be documented and tracked. Any special requests for supplies outside of the normal usage or for other departments must be approved by the Director of Housekeeping

Assists with the development of Tasks and Procedures (e.g. purchasing, supply requisitions, paperwork) and communicates tasks and procedures to appropriate staff in the, Housekeeping, and Environmental Services departments

Reviews monthly Operating Supply expenses for the Housekeeping, and Environmental Services departments utilizing department tracking book (i.e. the monthly financial statements), warehouse Issues/Transfers from MMS, and ensure that expenses fall within the budget on the monthly Profit & Loss statements

Analyzes month to month supply usage trends and costs to develop financial projections, using financial projections to guide purchasing decisions and to help determine annual Operating Supply budget requirements

Review and evaluate blanket order requisition status and submit request for future production of supplies

Communicate issues with products, such as defects, and work with vendors and purchasing to resolve issues and/or obtain refund

Oversee liquidation of damaged/obsolete products with Purchasing and maintains records of all liquidated items

Conducts random spot checks each week of housekeeping supply lockers, Environmental Services Department supply lockers, and linen dock area to ensure that supplies are not being over/under stocked

Supervises the reoccurring warehouse inventory results

Supervises Housekeeping and Environmental Services equipment repairs and functions

Communicate back-order items to Housekeeping, Environmental Services, and Director of Housekeeping to plan interim solutions

Assists with training and tracking employees on equipment use, relevant systems based on their individual job responsibilities, new hire onboarding/training checklists, safety and OSHA-related standards, certifications, and requirements

Manages Human Resource responsibilities including creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the property’s diversity commitment; adherence to the property’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with established policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements

Research new products and works closely with the Purchasing department to ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and procedures

Assist with implementing sustainability initiatives

Works with the MGM Resorts International Design Center on specifications for new items for the Housekeeping and Environmental Services departments

Maintains relationships with outside vendors and contractors to ensure that current supplies/prices are the most effective and affordable, and to monitor quality and quantity of work meets property standards and contractual agreements
