All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Manages production department, and ensures that fabrication work is consistent with the client’s budget and objectives and the department’s service standards | Estimates project materials, creates budget for project build, and creates tracking reports for business review | Maintains vendor relationships, communications, and project bids | Collaborates with warehouse team to have items pulled in a timely manner and communicates project onsite setup needs | Oversees daily work assignments for employees that produce props, including fabrication, woodshop, fabric, and paint. Ensures the following: paperwork is properly read and followed; props are complete, wrapped, marked, and ready for delivery; woodshop and fabrication team repairs assets in a timely manner | Assists employees on various techniques, equipment, prop building, and rigging | Prepares and approves Purchase Requests for production department and monitors/tracks event cost | Schedules employees, monitors production time, quality, and timelines; order outside labor as needed | Supervises assigned staff to include hiring recommendations that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; training; coaching; performance feedback, counseling | Ensures supervisor(s) maintain department safety standards, tool, asset, and equipment maintenance | Creates a work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, creativity, recognition, respect, and employee satisfaction. | Monitors condition of tools/props/furniture/décor; document and report damages | Develops clear knowledge of hotels/venues, dock/security procedures and ballroom specs; perform site inspections as needed. | Anticipates and solve design and production problems and timeline issues | Partners with property and MGM Resorts International departments to resolve issues | Communicates project status, timelines and delivery information to clients and internal teams | Become well versed on the Event Image site and fluent in MGM Resorts Events inventory, and monitors inventory levels | Stay current in design trends, technology, fabrication techniques, props/design elements, and vendor products | Acts as a MREP ambassador for the company and within our industry | Completes all required paperwork, monitor staff paperwork for accuracy and consistency | Participates in event production, installation/tear down and loading/unloading of vehicles as needed | Provides estimates for business development and account management, partnership with project management and operations | Must complete OSHA training, and other trainings as required |
