Job Profile Title: | Mgr Convention & Banquet Set Up-Commission | Job Code: | 19955 | Profile Title: | 19955 Mgr Convention & Banquet Set Up-Commission | Grade / Band: | L1 | FLSA Status: | Exempt | It is the responsibility of the Manager Convention & Banquet Set-Up to assist in the management and maintenance of banquet and convention facilities while ensuring that all banquet functions result in success and are promoting a positive guest experience. All duties are to be performed at the standards of MGM Resorts. | | | | | |
Principal Duties & Responsibilities | Event Setup & Coordination: Ensure timely and accurate event space setups based on BEOs and client needs, coordinating with Event Managers, Meeting Planners, banquet captains, AV teams, and other departments. | Team Supervision & Compliance: Oversee daily activities of banquet staff, manage scheduling, staffing, and labor compliance per union (CBA) guidelines, and support training, development, and performance documentation. | Operational Oversight: Conduct daily walk-throughs to identify issues, maintain cleanliness and organization of event-related areas, and monitor setup equipment and inventory. | Budget & Labor Management: Monitor staffing levels and labor costs to align with budgets, ensure timely payroll submission, and resolve discrepancies or staffing issues efficiently. | Client Experience & Problem Solving: Act as the main contact during events for troubleshooting setup concerns, suggest creative layout improvements, and maintain detailed records for accountability and service quality. |

Education and Experience | Bachelor degree preferred and 2+ years of prior relevant experience in Banquets, Catering & Convention Management. |
